Green Thumb...

After living in an apartment and only being able to have a "potted" garden on our patio, I was very excited to have a yard big enough to accommodate some scrumptious veggies. On Saturday we stopped in at our locate garden supply store and stocked up on our garden essentials.

Our garden experience:

Began at 1:00pm

Ended at 8:00 pm

Plants: 20 tomatoes, 12 okra, 4 cucumber, 4 zucchini,
2 bell peppers, 1 hot pepper = $ 25.50

4 bags of topsoil = $ 12.00

2 rakes, 2 shovels, 1 hoe, and a tiller (thank goodness) = free

2 people who had little to no clue about "proper" gardening = sore muscles

Lots of sun, sweat, and hard work = time

A finished garden that we hope will grow
veggies in abundance =Priceless

good for you! I stink at gardening...but I am great at picking and eating out of it! Let me know if you need help with that!
Where are you guys? somewhere nearby? (you don't have to say exactly in the comment section)
Have a great week!

Awwe! Good for you! I'm so jealous, I want a garden, but can't find the time in the day to take a shower all by myself, or check my email without one of the kids typing in their own busy fingered gibberish. So a garden is just not an option at the present moment! I expect amazing pictures of the fruits (or veggies) of your labors!

HEY! Thanks for finding me! I've thought about you...love the garden. My hubby and I are trying one too, our first real "big" garden by ourselves. Not a good time for us to try it with a newborn. Oh well! We're back home in the big Pink Hill! Where are you? :)
